History

Founded by Garry Smith, Dallas-based Triton EP, LLC, is comprised of a diverse team of finance and oil and gas experts. With a core focus in the Barnett Shale, North Texas, we’re proud to have a success rate of more than 75%. To date, we have produced more than 76,409 BO and 849,323 MCF.

Our drilling professionals and geologists are industry veterans with the experience and know-how to choose projects with positive potential. Furthermore, Triton is constantly reworking existing wells and looking to drill new wells that meet our rigorous standards.

Management

Garry B. Smith - President

Garry Smith is the founder and CEO of Triton EP, LLC. Smith founded the company in 2002 and has grown the company from two full-time employees to more than 15 employees. Triton is now Montague County’s ninth largest oil producer and is affiliated with the operating and drilling company, Peak Flow Operating & Drilling, and TexCo Securities, a NASD member/broker dealer.

A highly motivated individual whose list of hobbies includes work, Smith still makes time to attend Dallas Mavericks games and travel with his family. He also likes to catch up with his favorite fiction authors as well as adding to his collection of unique wines. Additionally, Smith supports the community in a variety of ways, such as creating scholarship funds for less fortunate children.

A persistent and visionary person, Smith takes pride in capitalizing on peoples’ strengths and resources by creating a detailed vision. Moreover, Smith develops genuine relationships and takes action, which has lead him to his dream of developing oil and gas fields.

Smith received his Bachelor of Arts in Business from the University of North Texas and was previously Vice President of another Dallas-based oil and gas developer.
